DIY: Pop Tab Curtain

Pop Tab Curtain
PopTab1
PopTab2
PopTab3
This is a project I started waaaaay back but never had enough pop tabs or motivation to finish it, until now. I've never had a beaded curtain before and I've always wanted one so one day I decided that I'm going to make one. As I was looking through my boxes, hunting beads, I came across some pop tabs I once collected, and I decided that I want my curtain to be made out of pop tabs!

I wanted one where the pop tabs are overlapped so that there isn't much space in between, meaning I was going to need a LOT of pop tabs. Thanks to all my friends who donated me some! It was especially hard for me since I don't drink a lot of pop.

PopTabs
The method I used to put together the pop tabs is really easy! The hardest part is finding enough time to do it. Here are the steps:

You can use any pop tabs and any type of thread. I used a thin white thread so that it wasn't very visible. Also, when I would run out of thread, I would just cut two new strands of thread and attach them to the ends.

I used approximately 3,500 pop tabs!

Hope you like it!

Ooh, I saved you a cool tab one day but no idea what I did with it. It will probably show up in the washing machine one day.

I love your curtain!

I love the way you varied the lengths!

Thanks everyone!!
I varied the lengths because I walk through that doorway a lot and didn't want to keep walking through the curtain.

I wonder how it sounds when you walk through it or when the wind blows. Can you record it for few seconds and share it here? :)

Haha that's the strangest request. :P I just may do that.

how did you end it? just knot the string/thread on the last tab?

You can end it however you want, depending on how you'll hang them. I just made a knot and then put an elastic loop through that one for hanging - I chose elastic so that if it's pulled by accident, the whole thing doesn't get as much tension.
